How ratings work
Ratings use OpenSkill. Yours starts from your osu! global rank, along with how sure the system is about it. Beating a stronger opponent earns more than beating a weaker one, and while the system is still unsure about you, every match moves your rating a lot. That certainty grows with each match. In team matches every player's rating moves, and teammates it knows less about move more. Queue matchmaking pairs players with similar ratings.
